That sounds like a power factor issue not a RK issue. Small pumps have this problem of having a poor power factor. That prevents the solid state switches to release them when they should be off. The solution is to use them on channels 4 or 8.

Hope that helps.

If I do that which channel will be good for the MH lights?

Edit after switching the MH from Channel 4.

Now I put the MH light onto channel 6 and every time it turns on the RK2 trips the Circuit board for that area of the house. Maybe the solution for my case is to run the lights on a timer on a channel that is always on and use it that way? Any suggestions? Thanks

I realize this is an old issue on a discontinued ReefKeeper, but has this been resolved? I recently started using the Mutli-timer function with recently purchased nightlight LEDs (Two IceCap 4 foot units). The first time point would not work. After reading the above three pages of posts, I moved it to plug 4….and nothing changed. So I am currently doing the following (by the way, I’m running firmware version 2.1):

Channel 4 – Auto – Multitimer
Timer 1: 9:20AM, duration 10 minutes
Timer 2: 9:30AM, duration 90 minutes
Timer 3: 9:00PM, duration 120 minutes

And, nothing happens from 9:20AM to 9:30AM. Time point 2 and 3 work fine.

By the way, I originally picked up on this problem when I was working on the tank in the morning, oblivious of time, and saw a flash or light. I eventually discovered that it was the LEDs flashing for a brief moment during the time they should have been on.

Would updating my firmware help this problem? Or, is there a solution? Thanks

I'm not sure why you would have Timer 1 and 2 set up like that. Would you not just use timer 1 at 9:20 with 100 minutes and then timer 3 would move to timer 2 and that's it?

You may have issues because of the possible overlap on 1 and 2. That's a bit of an odd setup (if the numbers are set up that way,) and not something we ever tested as far as I can remember.

Scott, I’m sorry if I didn’t explain fully. I originally had the timing set up like this:

Timer 1: 9:30AM, duration 90 minutes
Timer 2: 9:00PM, duration 120 minutes
Timer 3: not used

And nothing would happen at the first time point (except occasional flashing of the lights). Timer 2 would come on as programmed. Since Timer 2 was working, I programmed Timer 1 just to have something there. If I have nothing for Timer 1, it wouldn’t allow me to program Timer 2. So again, that time point is there just to allow me to input something for the other two time points. I have tried the original time program in plug 1 and plug 4, and the first time point would not work in either plug.
