Looks good Dave! Could we get a FTS with the moon lights on?

Yes, twelve blue LED pods driven by two RKM-MLC's. I have always liked the blue moonlights better than the white ones.

Thanks for the picture Dave! Do you have your actinics come on before and after your main lights? If so, could I see a FTS to compare your tank with only actinics on vs. the FTS with only the moon lights on? Seems to me, that even at 83%, those lights are just as bright as the actinics. I don't want that much light in my tank.

We're working on options for that so that customers can get coverage without over lighting their tank...

What kind of options are you referring to? I mean, would it be software or hardware options? I finally got the moon lights installed last night, and at only 17%, I still think it's too much light. When they (I only have 2 pods) are 100%, it'll be like having a light on in the room.

It's a scaling option that will be coming in a firmware update. It wont require hardware.

I have a total of twelve pods on my tank. I love the way it looks at 100%.

Wow Dave, I think 3 or 4 would be great for my tank (6' long). I am running the while lights, so maybe I'll try a blue and see how I like it.

Dave, wicked setup! Awesome work.

Couple of questions for you:

1) How do you like the Red Sea Ozone Generator? I was looking at these, and was thinking of getting one. How is the maintenance?

2) I see you are still running a Finnex Heater controller. Is this for backup in case the RKE fails?

3) Are you using a pH probe/SL-1 to run your calcium reactor? I'm looking to get a reactor, and assume that I can use the RKE pH probe in the effluent. Looking to see a working example before I make a purchase.

Again, beautiful tank!

Dave

The calcium rec=actor is a dual chamber reactor, so I was never concerned about watching the ph inside it. It is very easy to set up the RKE for controlling one though. You set a ph target, hysteresis, and what you want to trigger and you're off.

The ozone unit works great. I did have a problem with the fuse inside constantly tripping, but I called Red Sea and even before I packed it up to ship it to them, I received a replacement in the mail. Very quick customer service. I have had no trouble with it since. I have it set up so that when the ORP hits 400mv, the RKE tells it to shut off. Works great.

The Finnex temp controller was in fact for a back up. I quit working the other day, so I just hooked my two 800w heaters directly to the RKE system via two expansion sockets. One of them was originally setup for my chiller, but that is not necessary during these winter months, even in San Diego.
