Update #1:

The SL2 project is on track. As mentioned in other posts were working on probe pricing! If you look at competitive salinity probes you'll see pricing in the $125 and up which makes it a bit difficult for the masses to justify. As usual we're working to bring pricing down so that more customers can enjoy the benefits of this feature.

Update #2 (long over due!)

The SL2 is complete and undergoing extensive testing. We are awaiting shipment of one last critical component for our production run. As soon as we know when they will be in we will know the shipping date. At that time we'll post here and open up the module for pre-order.

Customers can expect more information about the pre-order to be posted by 08/11.

We should know pre-order dates, shipping dates and any other needed info for the much anticipated roll out of the SL2!

Pre-orders will start on Monday 08/17/09. We'll post at the open of pre-order the official shipping date of the unit, although I will tell you it's our plan to beet that!

Pre-order info

Start: 08/17/09 (Monday - afternoon)
Ship: 09/14/09 (Monday)

As with our past pre-orders, they are completed at our online store. All orders are processed and charged when places. That is what holds the order place in line. We’ve also waited to start pre-orders until we know that we have a confirmed ship date (or sooner.) We will ship pre-orders then we will begin shipping to dealers. (Please do not call and request information on dealer deliveries/stock.)

ANY order that contains an SL2 or salinity probe will be held until shipping begins. We will not split orders or ship partial.

Orders will start shipping on Monday 09/14/09 or sooner. We will ship all orders in the order in which we received them.

We've seen a couple emails about SL2 quantities for the pre-order... We will have upwards of 200 units for pre-order and it's first come, first serve on pre-orders.

Once units start shipping we should have our full production run shortly after.

Update:

The RKM-SL2 is ahead of schedule! We are expecting units to start shipping before the posted date. We'll know more on 08/28/09 so stay tuned!

Also, an exciting update to our conductivity probe: The Digital Aquatics conductivity probe will have full digital temperature compensation! This last minute addition will NOT affect the cost but it WILL greatly improve accuracy over the range of temperatures you'll deal with from systems, to water mixing and so on! The benefit to temp compensation is that you can calibrate at room temperature not tank temp. It will also guaranty that you can move the probe from your main tank to your mix tank to make sure the mix is spot on without worrying about a temperature shift!

Update: 08/31/09

RKM-SL2s have started shipping! A few made it out the door today and more will go out on Tuesday. The ReefKeeper Lite firmware, 1.03, will post in a day or two. Before the SL2s are in anyones hands!
